Bahadur Ali Success Story
Bahadur Ali’s story shows that determination can turn small beginnings into big successes.
Starting with a bicycle repair shop, he grew into the owner of IB Group, one of India’s biggest poultry companies, earning over INR 11,000 crores a year.
A Humble Beginning
Bahadur Ali was born and raised in a small village called Rajnandgaon in what was then undivided Madhya Pradesh.
His early life was filled with challenges. As a young boy, he worked with his father and later his brother, repairing bicycle punctures to support their family.
However, in 1978, tragedy struck when his father passed away.
This left the responsibility of the family on Bahadur’s young shoulders. Along with his elder brother Sultan Ali, Bahadur took over the family’s bicycle repair shop.
But they soon realized that surviving on this small income was difficult.
A Turning Point
Bahadur Ali’s life changed when he met a doctor who introduced him to the idea of poultry farming.
Inspired by this, Bahadur started his poultry business in 1984 with just 100 chickens. However, selling these chickens was much harder than he expected. But Bahadur didn’t give up.
He researched the market and decided to open his own outlets to sell the chickens. This marked the beginning of his business journey.
Building IB Group
Through hard work and determination, Bahadur Ali grew his business. By 1996, IB Group’s turnover had reached INR 5 crores.
But Bahadur wasn’t satisfied. A key moment in his journey came when he attended the World Poultry Fair in Delhi. Even though he didn’t speak English, he participated with the help of his sons and brother-in-law.
There, he met an American consultant who shared valuable business advice and the importance of using technology in poultry farming.
This knowledge helped Bahadur solve many challenges and move forward with confidence.
Growing the Business
Bahadur Ali continued to learn and expand his business. In 1999, he started his first poultry feed plant.
Over the next few years, he expanded into other areas, including a solvent extraction plant, an oil refinery, a fish feed plant, and high-protein pet food production.
Today, IB Group’s poultry capacity exceeds 5 million birds.
Their products include packaged milk, fish feed, vegetable oil, and soybean meal.
The company operates in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Odisha, with 90% of its workforce coming from villages.
Bahadur Ali’s strategy of focusing on sales before production has helped the business grow steadily.
Family and Legacy
Bahadur Ali, along with his brother Sultan Ali, brought IB Group to great heights. They involved their sons, Zeeshan Bahadur and Fahim Sultan, in the business.
Today, IB Group employs nearly 8,000 people, mostly from rural areas, and continues to grow at an annual rate of 30%.
In 2015, the company received the “Asian Poultry Breeding Personality Award,” recognizing its success.
