Saumya Kabra started with Rs 50k, grew a Jaipur gifting brand, and achieved a Rs 5 cr turnover

Success Story Of Saumya Kabra

Saumya Kabra, the founder & CEO of Confetti Gifts, established the Jaipur-based gift brand in 2019. Initially focusing on corporate gifting, the brand has shifted its focus to direct-to-consumer (D2C) offerings.

Confetti’s mission is to offer customers a refreshing gifting experience and a platform to explore unique and extraordinary gift ideas for their loved ones.

Saumya started the company with just an investment of Rs 50,000, and now it has generated a turnover of Rs 5 crore this year, despite the challenges.

Come along with us as we explore Saumya’s amazing story, the way the brand has grown, and how it’s changing the world of gift-giving in India.

Saumya Kabra’s Early Life and Education

Saumya completed her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Business Administration and Management from St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur, in the years 2014 to 2017.

Eager to expand her knowledge, she further pursued her Master’s degree in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at The University of Manchester from 2017 to 2018.

Birth of Confetti Gifts

Every entrepreneurial journey begins with identifying a gap.

In 2019, after completing her MBA in the UK, Saumya returned to India. Her quest for ordering special treats for friends led to a realization , there was no platform that seamlessly combined ‘personalization and the emotions of the sender.

According to Saumya, “The available gifting options were very basic and didn’t really consider individual emotions. The variety was very limited, and there was nothing that honored an individual’s taste or likeness.”

In response, she founded Confetti Gifts in 2019, investing an initial Rs 50,000 from her personal savings.

During this time, the government’s Digital India campaign was flourishing, fostering a conducive environment for the growth of online and e-commerce businesses.

This initiative not only supported the general boom in the digital sector but also played a vital role in helping Confetti establish its market presence in India.

According to Technopak, “The total size of the Indian gifting industry is about Rs 250,000 crore.”

This report emphasizes the vast potential and scope for growth within the gifting sector, with Confetti poised to make a significant impact.

Confetti Gifts Unique Approach

In the beginning, only people who knew about Confetti Gifts would buy their products. Soumaya often felt disappointed because of this.

But later, she understood how the market works and used online platforms like social media to show her products.

By sharing pictures and videos on social media, more people learned about the business. As they got more orders, the team grew from one person to about 40.

Saumya Kabra, a female entrepreneur, always supports women to be independent. Many of the team members are women.

The brand partnered with big companies like Amazon, IBM, Adobe, Razorpay, and more, making special gifts for their employees. This has strengthened its presence among B2B clients.
